ABOUT WESTERN REFLECTIONS

"We have never regretted buying a piece of art, but there is art we have regretted never buying."

- Mike and Joyce Oswald

The artwork in the Gallery represents not only the western upbringing of both Mike and Joyce, but also their love for the West and its past. These selections reflect their expertise and commitment to Western artists and their work.

Mike and Joyce have been collecting art and attending art shows for many years. In the early 1990’s, several artist friends asked them to become art show sponsors. They agreed and produced their first art show in the fall of 1995 in Richland, Washington. At the request of the Board of Directors of the national Appaloosa Museum, the Oswald’s added sponsorship of a show in Moscow, Idaho to benefit the museum.

At the same time artists were encouraging Mike and Joyce to become show sponsors, they realized they were buying art not only for their own collection but for possible resale – so Mike retired and they opened an art gallery in Richland in 1994. They also exhibited annually at shows around the west, the CM Russell at Great Falls, MT, the Rough Rider at Williston, ND and the National Western Art Show at Ellensburg, WA to name a few.

They retired from the gallery and show promotion in 2003 with the intent to enthusiastically continue attending other shows and present quality art for your enjoyment and selection via this online media.

Recently many of the same artist friends that had originally talked them into producing a show convinced them that they should resurrect their Tri-Cities art show. Realizing how much they missed their extended family and the fun, they decided to do just that.

The next Western Reflections Fine Arts Show will be May 9 to 11, 2008 at the TRAC Center, Pasco, WA. Contact us for more show information.
